Gartner Wrong Key Prediction: Blogging and Community Contributors Will Peak in 1st half of 2007

From the 10 Key Predictions Gartner, Inc. released on 13-Dec-2006 for 2007:

Gartner's Press release says:
"Given the trend in the average life span of a blogger and the current growth rate of blogs, there are already more than 200 million ex-bloggers. Consequently, the peak number of bloggers will be around 100 million at some point in the first half of 2007."

Maybe that is a very US centric view? In my opinion it is un-based and it will proof wrong on a global scale. Some countries are just starting to discover the benefit, power and fun of blogging and community contribution (e.g. there are 'just' 20 Mio. Blogs in China today, and a more to come).
