The Next Readers Interface: The Surface (of Anything)

and not ePaper devices. Dan Blank, a blogging college from USA who loves print & loves the web, tells in his post 'The Death of Print - the Rebirth of Print' of how print can (must) do better:

"Microsoft just announced a new product, and a new category for computing: “surface computing.” The idea: “every surface can become an interface for a computer ... I love printed newspapers, magazines, and books. This is the really the first technology that I have seen that has the potential to really disrupt the value of printed materials themselves ..."

And he point to a dinosaur of special interest magazine "Popular Mechanics" (they are not dead either) which explains the "next" computer interface in a great 4:17 min. video (and shows that print needs video and web to stay competitive ...)
