Shortly after reporting on the same question for US Newspapers, the Biving Group researched and published about the progress in how American Consumer Magazines (Top 50) use the web.
They found that magazines are progressing, but are slower in adopting Web 2.0 elements than newspapers. In 2007
- 58 percent of the magazines offer reporter blogs on their sites (2006: 40 percent)
93 percent of this blogs allow reader comments, 31 percent use blogrolls, or links to external blogs.
- 60 percent offer Video on their site (2006: 34 percent)
