Either, the media industry is not as good in dealing with Customer Relation and Customer Value or they do not offer the right service to the right person, at the right time and at the right place.
Via Rex Hammock I landed today at the Project Wiki VRM (Harvard). The Project is about developing a different, a new business model for media, 'PayChoice'. " ...one by which readers, listeners and viewers can quickly and easily pay for the goods they use — on their own terms, and not just those of suppliers' arcane systems. "
Maybe, if I have time (and readers are interested, I will write more about this model and how it can be (in my opinion) improved and successfully implemented.
For those of you knowing me from my consulting and teaching activities know, that I advocate 'Customer Value Management' versus CRM and would do so in the VRM of Doc Searl, too: Venture Value Management. I like the idea of giving, receiving, developing and caring about value (a two-way process).
Giving the power of such a process more into the hand of the customer / user (and join them) is in line with all social media principles and will benefit both, if they are listing, ask and share.
